Becoming a Piano Teacher Is Not Easy

Two weeks ago , my piano teacher gave birth to a baby girl . So , I was hired as her substitute teacher for some of her students . Today , a lot of first's had happened .

First of all , I never took a bus before , but my piano teacher's house is only reachable by a bus . So , I took Rapid KL . I have to admit that this system is quite good because I got all my information from the Internet and I actually managed to reach there on time .

For your information , I have no idea what to teach or what so ever . I just got all the students' scores when I reached there . So it was basically like sight reading . Knowing that my sight reading was so terrible , I was like so freaked out . Later how if I got so embarrassed in front of my students ? That's it lah ...

Before I could rehearse much , my first student arrived . Actually there were three of them . All were siblings . Thank goodness they were Grade Ones and Twos only . So I think I still managed to sight read most of their pieces .

Next was a pair of 9 years old twins . I tell you , they were super cute ... in an innocent way of course ... please , don't be sick ..... They were like C****** Y** H** Y** when she was younger , only difference was they were Indians .... the white kind of Indians ... Anyway , they were beginners . So I was actually quite relieved by it .

Then I had my lunch . Suddenly I realised I left my lunch at home ... Sob .... I had to order McDonald's which cost me RM15.15 .. OMG .... I super broke already . Before I finished it , the next batch of students arrived .

There were four of them . Two Grade 3's , one Grade 4 and one Grade 5 .... I didn't practise their pieces at all because my confidence level was quite high after the morning .

Anyway , it all started with the Grade 5 student . He was like ' Teacher , teacher ( he is only TWELVE !!!! Imagine how smart students nowadays are .... ) , how to play this piece ? ' Normally , I'll use my old trick and ask them to play while I was watching ... Actually I know nothing but I purposely went and find some mistakes when they were playing and pointed them out . It showed I was more than a puppet and I won't make a fool out of myself . But this student insisted I demonstrate to him . I sat on the chair , looked at the score .... I was thinking ' Ok , this is a Baroque piece , no pedal , little phrasing , regular tempo , very clear chord progressions .... shouldn't be a problem . Then when I played the first note ( an F ) ... he said " Teacher , teacher , it's F# la .. never look at the key signature one meh ?" .... I said " ........ " Omg .... so stupid , what kind of piano teacher doesn't look at the key signature before playing ..... Overall , I was so embarrassed .....

I am sure they were thinking " 有吾搞错 。。。this piano teacher so ciplak one ..."

That's it la .... I still need to teach for 3 more weeks .... We'll see how things go ...

Exam is OVER !!!!!!

I know it's a little too late to blog about this considering exam was over so long ... Anyway I just want to share how I spent my stress-free time .

On Wednesday , my last paper was Chemistry 6A , which means we had to be quarantined from 8am to 2.30pm .... omg ..... The paper was dreadful but it was like heaven after that ..... We went to watch ' Fast & Furious ' .... Yes .... this show is probably so outdated to most of the people , I wanted to watch earlier but my friends were freaked out by the trials .... It was SO WORTH WATCHING !!! Got hot ...... err..... cars ......and ..... stunts .... the girls ..... err.... I am too innocent to realise them ..... *vomit blood .......*

Thursday was a holiday for all non Accounting students ..... so E*** S*** , S****** C***** , B****** Y** , M*** J*** S****** and I went to do some sports to loosen up our 'nerve bones' ( direct translation from Cantonese ) at some club at Bukit Jalil .... We ended up swimming in HOT SUN for like an hour . Thanks to my ego for not using the sun block , I had a mild sunburn ..... After that we went to the steam room .... 52'C was not easy at all .... my pores opened as big as C****** Y**'s eyes ..... but miraculously , most of my blackheads were gone !!! It was better than facial treatment ....

The story didn't end here . Initially , we were planning to go to E***'s house to visit ..... not to see his sister of course .... please , I am not a paedophile ..... On the way we just came out with this spontaneous idea to go visit E***** G**'s house nearby ..... we called to see whether she was awake or not and as usual she panicked as soon as she heard us .... Anyway , we had Fishball Noodle as lunch ( quite expensive in my opinion but it tasted quite good ) and ICE ( treated by E***** G** ...... thanks again ) .....

There was more on Friday but I posted quite a lot already ..... very thirsty from talking .... next time I will catch up on it ......

I screwed up my interview anyway .......
All my UCAS universities have rejected me ...
So I can start thinking of some other place ....

Bristol Interview

Sorry , people . I still haven't collected enough pictures for the post on my birthday surprise . Wait for a little longer ya ..... Meanwhile , I went for the Bristol interview last Thursday . This is what happened ......

Reached Bukit Nanas Station from college - Starting to rain - Scared later the water-soluble gel on my hair dissolve - Run to Renaissance Hotel - Sweating like crazy - Image all gone - Went to register - Realised I forgot to photostat my SPM cert - went to the hotel office to do it - Charged me RM1 for 2 pieces of pathetic papers - Sam Tong - Registered successfully - Waiting for interview - Very sien - Play hand phone games - Friends sent good luck messages in between - Replied them and thanked them - Wait some more - And some more - Almost felt asleep - Suddenly my turn to interview - GG .......

Here are some interesting things they asked ( Please note that there are 2 interviewers - one watched while the other asked . And their British accent was very strong .... Imagine how much I struggled to process what they asked and act as though I can understand their accent very well ..... ) :

" You mentioned about the discovery of microorganisms and the development of related antibiotics and drugs being one of the major breakthroughs in the Health care sector . Can you name me a disease which was once a threat to us but is totally eradicated today ? "
' Stupid me go and talk about microbiology ... my weakest part .... '
( Act natural )
" Well .... I think one of them is Tuberculosis .... we used to be in fear all the time because of this disease but now we don't hear about it at all ..... "
( Whew ..... that was close .......)
" Very interesting example you gave . I was expecting small pox , or even hepatitis .... "
( The other woman interviewer interrupted ... )
" But recently there was a TB outbreak in India . Do you know why TB is still haunting us despite the variety of antibiotics available ? "
( Crap .... never read newspaper ..... die la ,,,,,,, blog some more but never update myself .... she could have asked me about ANTM or something like that but ....... haih ...... )
" Erhem ! "( Think too long d )
" Err ... well .... I think it's because the hygiene standard in India is not as good as ours ? "
" Interesting , but unfortunately not so .... It was the resistance development in TB bacteria. "
( Ouch .... that's it .... How could I forget about this ? Gone d ....... )

So , in a nutshell , my chances of getting into Bristol is -1 . Those who study S3 will know that there is such thing as negative probability ..... Good luck to me .

Super Random Post

I am sitting in the library now.
Checking emails .
Preparing for Bristol's interview tomorrow .
But there is nothing to prepare already .
Because I know the chances of making it through is 216/3546 ( exact statistics ).
So , why care ?
Why must I go UK ?
IMU not good enough ? ( no offence , kx )
Or just that I terikut-ikut other people ?
Whatever .
Today is April Fool .
So what you saw just now was my "emo" wannabe .
Obviously I won't emo on my blog . ( no offence , a***** o* )
I keep things to myself most of the time .
Hard to find people whom you really really trust .
Is it difficult for you too ?
Because I haven't found anyone .
Girlfriend can be trusted ?
Sure . But there are still things better remain as secret .
Again , today is April Fool .

OB Night Dances

Thanks to E*** S*** , I have finally posted up the OB Night dances on youtube and post it on my blog ..... Anyway , MCKL Dance Club did perform a dance .... I think it was super nice ... cuz I am small part of it ..... hehe ... perasan a bit la ... You have to watch it to know how good it was ... So , ENJOY !!!!

After all the protest and threats I received , seems like I just have to keep those videos to myself .... Haih .....

Anyway , this post is not about what happened on Valentine's Day eve already . But it is still last month's issue .... It was Eunice's birthday !!! And since she hates people throwing a birthday party , you think we will do as she wants ??? NO !!! As a matter of fact , we toyed with her comfort zone .... For your information , she likes to feel in control of everything .... so we did something to "surprise" her .....

Basically , it was just a normal party . Cake , photos an friends ....... but the way she reacted to it was hilarious ..... You will understand once you have watched the video ....

P.S : I asked her permission to post already .... SO , TO THOSE WHO THINK THIS AS AN INFRINGEMENT OF PRIVACY , SHUT UP !!!
